20000 Sunflowers Blooming in Zhengzhou Botanical Garden

Sunflowers are blooming in the blazing summer sun. In order to give a presentation to the ecological construction achievements of Zhengzhou City and enrich the cultural life of the citizens, the 2023 Zhengzhou Botanical Garden Sunflower Exhibition, sponsored by Zhengzhou Gardens Bureau, kicked off from July 5th to 28th.

Themed by “Blossoming Sunflowers to the Sun”, this Flower Exhibition of the year displays six colors of yellow, white, compound color, black, lemon and red-orange, 20 varieties and more than 20,000 ornamental sunflowers. Apart from such popular star varieties as Black Swan, Happy Firecracker and White Moonlight, another six new high-quality varieties are also introduced, that is, yellow dwarf variety of Bert, the colorful dwarf variety of stunning Solar Energy, as well as edible and ornamental Kaka, Sunflower King and Queen.

During the exhibition, the park also prepares sunflower culture boards at the square of the South Gate, allowing visitors to learn more about sunflowers over the viewing tour. At the same time, the activity of popularizing scientific knowledge of sunflowers themed by “Recognize Plants with Sister Apple” invites families to participate in the activity and explore the mysteries of sunflowers.
