It provides important clues for understanding the daily life of primitive ancestors in the Central Plains 8,000 years ago.It is also of great significance for exploring the pottery making in the early Neolithic period, and even for studying the origin of Chinese food culture and ding culture.

Peiligang culture is named after it was first discovered in Peiligang Village, Xinzheng, 9000-7000 years ago. It is a cultural relic of the early Neolithic Age distributed in Heluo area. Its discovery provides important information for us to understand the origin of early agricultural civilization in the Central Plains.

It’s the oldest tripod found in China. It was made by hand.In the inner wall of the ding,

The trace of clay-strip building is still can be found in the inner ding. The nails on the belly of the ding can reinforce the body and also serve as decoration.

When look carefully, many sandstone grits in the ceramic tire could be find, which are not for halfhearted work, but intentionally added, which could increase the permeability of the ceramic ding to avoid collapsing at high temperatures.

This small invention reflects the wisdom of the ancestors, and also proves that during the Peiligang culture period, the pottery making technology in the Central Plains has left the most primitive stage and entered the development period, laying a foundation for the development of pottery making technology in the Central Plains in the future.
