Zhengzhou International【走近郑州历史名人】“第一美男子”潘安

Located in the middle of heaven and earth, Zhengzhou is nurtured by the Yellow river. Since ancient times, herds of influential statesmen, thinkers, scientists and writers borned here. They either worked for the government or wrote books, highlighting their times with their insights, creations and ideas.

位居天地之中、黄河之滨的郑州，受大河哺育、“天中”滋养，自古以来就涌现出众多影响深远的政治家、思想家、科学家、文学家等各领域杰出人才，他们或为政一方，或著书立说，用自己的见解、创造和思想为所处时代打上了一片片“高光”。

Take copper as a mirror, one can be dressed; take people as a mirror,one can judge gains and losses. Maybe we will have new gains when we get close to these famous people in Zhengzhou's history again.

以铜为鉴，可以正衣冠; 以人为鉴，可以明得失。当我们再次走近郑州历史上的这些名人，或许会有新的收获。

In China, there are many adjectives to describe the beauty of women, such as "one who would make wild geese alight and fish dive down for shame, obscure the moon and make the flower blush...while to describe a man’s good looks, one sentence is enough, he is as handsome as Pan An.

在中国，形容女性的美，形容词颇多，沉鱼落雁、闭月羞花、国色天香、倾国倾城……简直不胜枚举，而形容男性的容貌好，只有一句就无须多言——貌比潘安。

Pan An, may be called the first beautiful man through the ages, borned in Zhengzhou Zhongmu.

这位潘安，堪称古往今来第一美男子，郑州中牟人士。

As for the handsome of Pan An, the Book of Jin recorded such a scene: in Pan An’s yonger days,when he going out, women are deeply attracted by his appearence and throw fruits and flowers to his wagon,which was full when he back to home.

对于潘安的美，《晋书》记载了这样的场景：“少时常挟弹出洛阳道，妇人遇之者，皆连手萦绕，投之以果，遂满车而归……”

Pan An is not only handsome,but also good at writing. His Fu,a kind of Chinese poetry is full of emotion.

Pan An and Lu Ji are the most popular writers in the Western Jin Dynasty. In later generations, "Lu Ji’s talents is like a sea and Pan An’s talents is like a river" is often used to describe them, which shows Pan An's status as a first-class writer in the Wei and Jin Dynasties and be praised highly of by later generations.

潘安不仅样貌好，在写作方面也是文字优美，富有感情，他的赋堪称魏晋时代顶峰。潘安、陆机是西晋作品流传下来最多的文学家，后世文学作品中常用“陆才如海，潘才如江”来形容潘安与陆机，可见潘安在魏晋朝一流文学家的地位和后世对他的推崇。

In addition to his talent in writing, Pan had a way of being an official. When he was served as magistrate of Heyang County, combining with the local geographical environment, he planted peach blossoms all over the county, and made two conflicted people work together to water the flowers to calm their quarrel.

除了写作上的才能，潘安做起官来也很有一套。他当河阳县令时，结合当地地理环境，令满县栽种桃花，“浇花息讼”深得百姓认可。

What impressed us more is that , Pan An is not only talented and handsome, he is very devoted to his wife. Even though his wife died early, he never remarried again. Among his works, Pan An's greatest feature is his emotional, which has a great influence on later generations. The Poem of Mourning for his beloved wife has become the pioneer work of the theme of mourning for the death in the history of Chinese literature. It has been put first in all dynasties and become a famous article in the history of Ancient Chinese literature.

更为难得的是，潘安不止兼才华与颜值于一身，他还“意外”地非常专情，对结发妻子一往情深、感情深厚，即使妻子早早离世，他也没有再娶。作品中，潘安最大特色是以情感人， 对后世影响很大，特别给爱妻的《悼亡诗》，更成为中国文学史悼亡题材的开先河之作，历代被推为第一，成为中国古代文学史上的名篇。

As the "hometown of Pan An", Zhongmou county also has Pan Yue theme park, Pan 'an statue, Pan 'an tomb and so on, from which you can glimpse his elegant demeanour more than 1,700 years ago.

作为“潘安故里”，中牟县还有潘岳主题公园、潘安雕像、潘安墓等，从中可以窥见1700多年前他的风采。
