General cypress in Dengfeng, the oldest and largest cypress in China

In Songyang Academy there are two han general cypresses, according to legend, It was sealed when Emperor Wudi of han Dynasty visited Zhongyue. Qinhuai Pine, Wupin Pine of Shaolin Temple, Strange pine of Huishan Temple, Shaoshi Sanhua tree and Baiheguan ancient pine are named as the six amazing trees in Songshan Mountain, but the Wupin pine of Shaolin Temple, Strange pine of Huishan Temple and Baiheguan Ancient pine have all disappeared.

嵩阳书院内有两株汉封将军柏，相传是汉武帝游中岳时所封。将军柏与少林寺三品秦槐、少林寺五品松、会善寺怪松、少室三花树、白鹤观古松并称嵩山六大奇树，而少林寺五品松、会善寺怪松、白鹤观古松皆已不存。

The second general cypress is 18.2 meters high, 12.54 meters in circumference and 17.8 meters in crown width. The second general cypress is the oldest cypress known in China, known as "the first cypress in China"

汉封将军柏距今已有4500多年。大将军柏在嵩阳书院大门西北，二将军柏在先圣殿西，为汉武帝所封。大将军柏高12米，围径5.4米，冠幅11.5米;二将军柏高18.2米，围径12.54米，冠幅17.8米。二将军柏是目前所知中国最古老的柏树，有“中华第一柏”之称。

In 1958, forestry experts determined and analyzed the general cypress. The tree was more than 4500 years old, making it the oldest and largest cypress in China.
