From a windy and dusty area in the early days of liberation, to a National Garden City in 2006,then a National Ecological Garden City in 2019, Zhengzhou has demonstrated to the world its determination and action of a northern city to improve and protect the ecology.
从一个解放初期的“风沙城”，到2006年创建为国家园林城市，再到2019年国家生态园林城市，郑州用不断殷实的生态园林家底，向世人展示了一个北方城市改善和保护生态的决心和行动力。

In recent years, Zhengzhou has made great efforts to create an ecological spatial pattern and built a greenway with a total length of 3,588 kilometers; the coverage rate of parks has reached 90.48%. According to the local conditions, green construction has be carried out on both sides of the high-speed railway with a 100 meters Green Belt, and the general railway with a 50 meters Green Belt. In the past 16 years, 78 species of birds have appeared in the Yellow River Wetland in Zhengzhou, making it one of the top 10 best cities in China in 2018-2019.
近年来，郑州着力打造生态空间格局，建成全长3588公里的绿道;公园绿地服务半径覆盖率达到90.48%;因地制宜对高铁两侧各100米、普铁两侧各50米绿线实施绿化建设;郑州黄河湿地鸟类16年间增加78种，入列2018-2019年度全国十大美好生活城市。

The green space of Zhengzhou in the urban area grows at a rate of 10 million square meters per year, forming a "green heart of the city" with four parks covering 4000 acres plus as the core, and successfully creating a National Ecological Garden City, which is the only city winning this award above the provincial capital in the region north of the Yangtze river.
郑州市区绿地面积每年以1000万平方米的速度增长，形成了以四个千亩以上公园为核心的“城市绿心”，成功创建国家生态园林城市，成为我国长江以北地区唯一一个获此殊荣的省会以上城市。

By 2020, Zhengzhou will have more than 7.5 million square meters of green space, 37 comprehensive parks covering more than 5,000 square meters, and start the construction of 15 ecological parks over 10,000 mu, such as the Second Botanical Garden and the Second Zoo, to realize the goal of "300 meters to see the green, 500 meters to see the park".
2020年，郑州要新增绿地面积750万平方米以上，新建5000平方米以上综合性公园37个，开工建设第二植物园、第二动物园等万亩以上生态公园15个，基本实现 “300米见绿、500米见园”的目标。
