Posterity of the Yellow River made successful premiere at Zhengzhou Grand Theater

On the evening of Sept 21, Posterity of the Yellow River, a Large-scale Stage Play of 2022 National Arts Foundation produced by Zhengzhou Henan Opera Art Center opened officially in the Opera Hall of Zhengzhou Grand Theater.

It is also the premiere of the play after it became a project funded by the National Arts Fund in 2022.

The play tells the story of the Yellow River, which took place during the Anti-Japanese War.

The Liangs’family on the bank of the Yellow River is a famous commercial family. Based on integrity, fair trade, they do business all over the country. After Japan occupies northeast China, Japanese profiteers went looting and pillaging, Liangs’ family suffered a heavy loss, then the shopkeeper died with hatred. When internal and external troubles hit the family, Mrs. Liang, who called Wu Ruolan came forward to overcome difficulties and lead the family survived.

After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Liangs’ family sold family properties to relieve the distress of people,and plunged into a valiant struggle against the enemy.

The play will be performed two more times at Zhengzhou Grand Theater on Sept 22 and 23.
