Poetic Dance: The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting performed in Henan Art Center

In the past few days, the 2022 China(Zhengzhou) Yellow River Culture Month has become a frequent "hot word" in people's Wechat Moments.

The dance show entitled “Poetic Dance: The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting” was performed in Henan Art Center in the night of September 19th and 20th, attracting a large number of citizens to enjoy it for free.

The show is created against the background of a thousand-Mile River and Mountains painting by Wang Ximeng, a painter of the Northern Song Dynasty. It leads the audience to wander in the legendary Chinese traditional aesthetic interest, vividly feel the Song Dynasty life aesthetics, Chinese traditional aesthetics charm.

“A Panorama of Mountains and Rivers” is the only extant work by Wang. It has been publicly exhibited only twice since 1949. The dance show tells the story of a researcher from the Palace Museum who has devoted himself to studying the masterpiece, travelling back in time to witness the moment when the genius painter was about to finish the work(China daily). It is understood that in 2022 China (Zhengzhou) Yellow River Culture Month, series of literature and art performance will be presented to the mass. The activity will last until late November, and the cultural feast of "see the Yellow River, talk the Yellow River, sing for the Yellow River and understand the Yellow River" will continue to be wonderful.
