The Ancestor Worship Ceremony at Yellow Emperor’s Birthplace in Xinmao Year (2011)

 

 

2011年4月5日，农历辛卯年三月初三，上午，万众瞩目的辛卯年黄帝故里拜祖大典在新郑市隆重举行。

In the morning of April 5th, 2011, i.e. the third day of March in Xinmao year of the lunar calendar, the grand ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in Xinmao year was held grandly in Xinzheng City.

9时50分，大典主司仪宣布辛卯年黄帝故里拜祖大典开始，全体肃立，鸣盛世礼炮21响。

At 9:50, the master of ceremony announced that the ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in Xinmao year began, all stood up, and the salute of the prosperous age sounded 21.

在庄严悦耳的乐声中，嘉宾们向黄帝像敬献花篮。

In the solemn and melodious music, the guests presented flower baskets to the statue of the Yellow Emperor.

接着，净手上香。

Then, hands were cleaned and incense was burned.

现场全体人员向黄帝像行施拜礼，深深三鞠躬，气氛庄严肃穆。然后恭读拜祖文：“惠风和煦，万物复萌。河洛浩浩，溱洧清清。豫州亿众，意气腾腾。小康既现，黾勉攀登。南联鄂皖，陕鲁西东。并肩挽臂，七省齐兴……”

At the scene, all the staff paid homage to the statue of the Yellow Emperor, bowing three times deeply, in the solemn atmosphere. Then, read the works of worshipping ancestors: "In the gentle and pleasant breeze, all things sprout again. The rivers are vast and clear. People in Yuzhou are full of enthusiasm. Well-to-do is present, and you are encouraged to climb. Connecting Hubei and Anhui in the south, Shaanxi and Shandong are in the west and east. Arm in arm and side by side, seven provinces prosper together..."

10时25分，恢弘的音乐响起，240名成人组成的合唱队、80名少年儿童组成的合唱队齐声高唱《黄帝颂》。歌唱家殷秀梅和童星李木子手牵手，在金色的祈福树下领唱。

At 10:25, magnificent music sounded, and a chorus composed of 240 adults and 80 children sang Ode to the Yellow Emperor in unison. Singer Yin Xiumei and child star Li Muzi hold hands and lead the singing under the golden blessing tree.

在接下来的“乐舞敬拜”环节，舞蹈演员用灵动优美的舞姿，向轩辕黄帝表达炎黄子孙的景仰之情。

In the following "Worshiping by Music and Dancing" session, dancers expressed the admiration of the descendants of the Yellow Emperor to Xuanyuan Huangdi with smart and beautiful dancing.

在“祈福中华”环节，18位海内外代表，在祈福树上挂起祈福牌。接着，他们登上拜祖台，在9.5米的拜祖文长卷上落款用印，用书法和中国印等中国元素，表达了对祖国民富、国强、文明、和谐的衷心祝愿。

In the "Blessing China" session, 18 representatives at home and abroad hung up blessing cards on the blessing tree. Then, they boarded the ancestor worship platform, signed and sealed the 9.5-meter long scroll of worshipping ancestors, expressing their sincere wishes for the people's wealth, national strength, civilization and harmony of the motherland with Chinese elements such as calligraphy and Chinese seal.

最后，来自北京、台湾、香港、澳门的4名儿童走上拜祖台，放飞了手中的和平鸽。紧接着，拜祖广场鸽群飞起、金龙吐水、气球纷飞、礼花怒放，现场气氛达到了高潮，全场爆发出长时间的热烈掌声。

Finally, four children from Beijing, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao took to the ancestor worship platform and released the dove of peace in their hands. Then, the pigeons flew up in the square of worshipping ancestors, the golden dragons spit water, balloons flew and fireworks were in full bloom, and the atmosphere at the scene reached a climax, and the whole audience burst into warm applause for a long time.

10时40分，主司仪梁国扬宣布，辛卯年黄帝故里拜祖大典告成!

At 10:40, Liang Guoyang, the master of ceremony, announced that the ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in Xinmao year was a success!

大典的成功举办让海内外宾客赞誉有加。

The success of the ceremony has won praise from guests at home and abroad.

共有来自美国、英国、法国、德国、澳大利亚、日本、韩国、新加坡、印度尼西亚等19个国家和地区的近千位华人华侨，以及祖国内地、台湾、香港、澳门社会各界来宾，辛亥革命相关城市领导同志、辛亥革命志士后裔，以及各界社会团体、民间组织、友好人士共万余人参加了这次拜祖活动。(河南日报记者刘亚辉徐建勋高长岭)
