The Ancestor Worship Ceremony at Yellow Emperor’s Birthplace in Renchen Year (2012)

 

 

壬辰年黄帝故里拜祖大典于3月24日上午在新郑举行，来自海内外上万名炎黄子孙，共同祭拜中华民族的人文始祖轩辕黄帝。

On the morning of March 24th, a ceremony was held in Xinzheng to worship ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in Renchen year. Tens of thousands of Chinese descendants from home and abroad worshiped Xuanyuan Huangdi, the humanistic ancestor of the Chinese nation.

中原大地，春光明媚，惠风和畅，生机勃勃。2012年3月24日，农历壬辰年三月初三上午，万众瞩目的壬辰年黄帝故里拜祖大典在新郑市隆重举行。来自海内外的各界嘉宾万余人喜聚盛典，拜谒中华民族的始祖轩辕黄帝，共同祈福华夏繁荣昌盛。

The land of Central Plains is full of vigor and vitality, with radiant and enchanting spring scene, and gentle and pleasant breeze. In the morning of March 24th, 2012, i.e. the third day of March in Renchen year of the lunar calendar, the grand ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor was held in Xinzheng City. More than 10,000 guests from all walks of life at home and abroad gathered for the grand ceremony to pay homage to the ancestor of the Chinese nation, Xuanyuan Huangdi, praying for the prosperity of China.

本届大典由河南省人民政府、政协河南省委员会、国务院侨务办公室、中华全国归国华侨联合会、中华全国台湾同胞联谊会、中华炎黄文化研究会主办，郑州市人民政府、政协郑州市委员会、新郑市人民政府共同承办。大典主题为“同根同祖同源，和平和睦和谐”。

The ceremony was hosted by Henan Provincial People's Government, Henan Provincial Committee of China People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots and Association for Yan Huang Culture of China, and jointly undertaken by Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government, Zhengzhou Municipal Committee of CPPCC and Xinzheng Municipal People's Government. The theme of the ceremony is "Same Root, Same Ancestor and Same Origin, Peace, Concord and Harmony".

上午9时19分，嘉宾们怀着崇敬的心情缓步走来，穿过汉阙，经洗尘后，步入拜祖主会场。

At 9:19 a.m., the guests walked slowly with reverence, walked through the Han Que, and entered the main venue of ancestor worship after washing the dust.

9时50分，大典主司仪宣布壬辰年黄帝故里拜祖大典开始，全体肃立，鸣盛世礼炮21响。在庄严悦耳的乐声中，嘉宾向黄帝像敬献花篮。

At 9:50, the master of ceremony announced that the ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in the year of Renchen began, all stood up, and the salute of the prosperous age sounded 21. In the solemn and melodious music, guests presented flower baskets to the statue of the Yellow Emperor.

9时58分，净手上香仪式开始。嘉宾们先后走到台前，净手上香。

At 9:58, the hand cleaning and incense burning ceremony began. The guests went to the platform one after another, washed hands and burned incense.

接着，现场全体人员向黄帝像行施拜礼，深深三鞠躬，气氛庄严肃穆。然后，由十届全国人大常委会副委员长、中华炎黄文化研究会会长许嘉璐恭读拜祖文。

Then, all the staff at the scene paid homage to the statue of the Yellow Emperor, bowing three times deeply, in the solemn atmosphere. Then, Xu Jialu, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Tenth National People's Congress and President of the Association for Yan Huang Culture of China, read the works of worshipping ancestors.

10时16分，恢弘的音乐响起，240名成人组成的合唱队、80名少年儿童组成的合唱队齐声高唱《黄帝颂》。

At 10:16, magnificent music sounded, and a chorus composed of 240 adults and a chorus composed of 80 children sang Ode to the Yellow Emperor in unison.

在接下来的“乐舞敬拜”环节，舞蹈演员用灵动优美的舞姿，向轩辕黄帝表达炎黄子孙的景仰之情。

In the following "Worshiping by Music and Dancing" session, dancers expressed the admiration of the descendants of the Yellow Emperor to Xuanyuan Huangdi with smart and beautiful dancing.

在“祈福中华”环节，18位优秀炎黄子孙代表，在祈福树上挂起祈福牌。接着，他们登上拜祖台，在由著名书法家吴行先生誊写的拜祖文长卷上，用书法、中国印等传统文化元素，表达对祖国民主、富强、文明、和谐及中华民族伟大复兴的深深祈福。

In the "Blessing China" session, 18 outstanding representatives of the descendants of the Yellow Emperor put up blessing cards on the blessing tree. Then, they boarded the ancestor worship platform and expressed their deep prayers for the democracy, prosperity, civilization and harmony of the motherland and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation with traditional cultural elements such as calligraphy and Chinese seal on the long scroll of worshipping ancestors transcribed by the famous calligrapher Wu Xing.

最后，来自北京、香港、澳门、台湾的4名儿童走上拜祖台，放飞了手中洁白的和平鸽。在中华民族的复兴之路上，在炎黄子孙的人文始祖面前，他们放飞中华儿女对盛世昌平的期盼，对世界和平的希望。

Finally, four children from Beijing, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan took to the ancestor worship platform and released the white dove of peace in their hands. On the road to the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, in front of the humanistic ancestor of the Chinese descendants, they let go of the Chinese people's expectation for prosperity and hope for world peace.

10时33分，主司仪林军宣布，壬辰年黄帝故里拜祖大典告成!

At 10:33, Lin Jun, the master of ceremony, announced that the ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in Renchen year was a success!

据悉，来自美国、英国、法国、澳大利亚、苏丹、日本、印度尼西亚等24个国家和地区的数千位海外侨胞，企业、文化、体育、科技等社会各界知名人士，全国道德模范、“感动中国”人物代表，以及各界社会团体、民间组织、友好人士等近万人参加了大典活动。

It is reported that nearly 10,000 people, including thousands of overseas Chinese from 24 countries and regions such as the United States, Britain, France, Australia, Sudan, Japan and Indonesia, celebrities from all walks of life such as enterprises, culture, sports, science and technology, representatives of national moral models and "Moving China" figures, as well as various social groups, non-governmental organizations and friendly personages, attended the ceremony.
