The Ancestor Worship Ceremony at Yellow Emperor’s Birthplace in Jiawu Year (2014)

 

 

2014年4月2日，农历甲午年三月初三，备受全球华人瞩目的甲午年黄帝故里拜祖大典在新郑市隆重举行。来自海内外的各界嘉宾亲临盛典，拜谒中华民族的始祖轩辕黄帝，共同祈愿中华民族团结和谐、伟大祖国繁荣富强、华夏儿女吉祥幸福。

On April 2nd, 2014, i.e. the third day of March in Jiawu year of the lunar calendar, the grand ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in the year of Jiawu, attracting the attention of Chinese all over the world, was held in Xinzheng City. Guests from all walks of life at home and abroad visited the grand ceremony in person, paid tribute to the ancestor of the Chinese nation, Xuanyuan Huangdi, and prayed for the unity and harmony of the Chinese nation, the prosperity and strength of the great motherland, and the auspicious happiness of Chinese people.

本届大典由河南省人民政府、政协河南省委员会、国务院台湾事务办公室、中华全国归国华侨联合会、中华全国台湾同胞联谊会、中华炎黄文化研究会共同主办，郑州市人民政府、政协郑州市委员会、新郑市人民政府共同承办。大典主题为“同根同祖同源，和平和睦和谐”。

The ceremony was co-sponsored by Henan Provincial People's Government, Henan Provincial Committee of China People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots and Association for Yan Huang Culture of China, and jointly undertaken by Zhengzhou Municipal People's Government, Zhengzhou Municipal Committee of CPPCC and Xinzheng Municipal People's Government. The theme of the ceremony is "Same Root, Same Ancestor and Same Origin, Peace, Concord and Harmony".

9时45分，大典主司仪林军宣布甲午年黄帝故里拜祖大典开始。全体肃立，鸣盛世礼炮21响。在庄严的乐声中，嘉宾向黄帝像敬献花篮。

At 9:45, Lin Jun, the master of ceremony, announced the beginning of the ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of the Yellow Emperor in Jiawu year. All stood up, and the salute of the prosperous age sounded 21. In the solemn music, guests presented flower baskets to the statue of the Yellow Emperor.

随后，嘉宾们净手上香。

Afterwards, the guests cleaned their hands and burned incense.

在主司仪的引导下，全体人员庄严肃立，向黄帝像深深三鞠躬，现场安静肃穆。

Under the guidance of the master of ceremony, all the staff stood solemnly and bowed three times deeply to the statue of the Yellow Emperor. The scene was quiet and solemn.

接着，许嘉璐恭读拜祖文：“具茨绵绵，溱洧洋洋，圣山圣水，蜿蜒荡荡;少典之子，兹诞兹长，号曰轩辕，以德而王……”

Then, Xu Jialu read the works of worshipping ancestors: "Juci mountain is continuous, Zhenshui and Weishui are vast, and the holy mountains and waters are winding and swaying; The son of Shaodian, who is born and grows up, is called Xuanyuan, becoming king by virtue..."

10时18分，“高唱颂歌”环节。歌声庄重浑厚，响彻会场。

At 10:18, "Singing Carols". Singing was solemn and vigorous, resounded through the venue.

接着，“乐舞敬拜”开始，身着红色服装的演员，用轻灵的舞蹈表达对祖先的追思和景仰。

Then, "Worshiping by Music and Dancing" began, and the actors dressed in red costumes used light dance to express their memory and admiration for their ancestors.

10时28分，来自海内外的18位优秀炎黄子孙代表，在祈福树上挂起祈福牌。接着，他们登上拜祖台，在拜祖文书法长卷上，加盖自己的印章，表达对中华民族团结和谐、伟大祖国繁荣富强、华夏儿女吉祥幸福的深深祈愿。

At 10:28, 18 outstanding representatives of descendants of the Yellow Emperor from home and abroad put up blessing cards on the blessing tree. Then, they boarded the ancestor worship platform and stamped their own seals on the long calligraphy scroll of worshipping ancestors, expressing their deep wishes for the unity and harmony of the Chinese nation, the prosperity and strength of the great motherland, and the auspicious happiness of Chinese people.

最后是“天地人和”环节，来自台湾、香港、澳门、郑州的4名儿童走上拜祖台，放飞了手中的和平鸽。

Finally, in the "Harmony of Heaven, Earth and Man" link, 4 children from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macau and Zhengzhou stepped onto the ancestor worship platform and released the dove of peace in their hands.

至此，拜祖大典九项仪程全部完成。

At this moment, the nine rituals of ancestor worship ceremony have been completed.

10时37分，主司仪宣布：甲午年黄帝故里拜祖大典告成!

At 10:37, the master of ceremony announced: the ceremony of worshipping ancestors in the hometown of Yellow Emperor in the year of Jiawu was successful!
