You Are Indeed an Extraordinary Lad

About five thousand years ago, along the banks of the Yellow River was the wilderness of the central plains, which was destined to be an extraordinary land. A tribe was living here, and the name of the clan was Youxiong. The tribe leader was called Shaodian, his wife’s name was Fubao. And they were the parents of the famous Yellow Emperor.

大约5000年前的黄河岸边，中原旷野， 注定是一片不平凡的土地。这里生活着一个部落，有熊氏大酋长叫少典，他的妻子叫附宝，他们就是大名鼎鼎的黄帝的父母。

 

Students who are fond of history often run into this kind of saying: the birth of a remarkable person was always accompanied by some supernatural phenomena. Of course these legends are not so credible; but they have indeed reflected the good wishes of the ancient people.

喜欢历史的同学常会发现这样的一个说法：不同凡响的人物降生，总会伴随着一些异象出现。当然，这些传说固然不太可信，但也反映了古人的一种美好祈愿。

 

Naturally the birth of the Yellow Emperor couldn’t take place without the “auspicious sign from heaven”.

黄帝出生，自然也少不了“天降祥瑞”。

 

It was a pleasant night, there were shooting stars that appeared at times in the sky, and the unknown birds and insects were singing a symphony in the woods. Shaodian pointed to the Triones and said, “A halo is there today, something is surely going to happen!” Fubao said, “Yes, the brightest star is rushing toward us. Shall we make a wish?” But before she could do anything, she felt a pain in her belly.

一个天气宜人的夜晚，天空不时有流星掠过，树林里不知名的鸟虫鸣奏着交响曲。少典指着北斗七星，今天那里多了一道光环，一定会有什么事发生!附宝说，可不是么，那一颗最亮的星正冲我们而来呢。要不要许愿?还没来得及做动作，附宝就感觉肚子疼了一下。

 

Several months later, Fubao gave birth to a baby boy; and when she recalled that scene, she seemed to be somehow enlightened: this child is not an ordinary star! What she could never think of was that this star would shine over the Chinese land with unending glory ever since.

几个月以后，当附宝生下一个男婴，回想到这一幕时，方才若有所悟：这个孩子可不是一般的星星!她没有想到的是，这颗明星会自此闪耀中华光辉不灭。

 

With his own star aura, the Yellow Emperor can be said to have won on the starting line since his childhood. When the other children could do nothing but cry, he was already able to talk a lot. Due to his unusual intelligence and personal quality of honesty and diligence, he succeeded his father at the age of 15 and became the chief of the clan.

自带明星光环的黄帝，可以说打小就赢在起跑线上，别的小朋友还只会哭时，他已经能滔滔不绝地说话了。异于常人的智商，诚实勤奋的品质，让他在15岁时就接班父亲，成了部落首领。
